*This tuning requires the latest SRS Beta as of 9/16/2020 to improve Pitch, Roll, and Sway telemetry*
Below is the general tuning for both American Truck Simulator (ATS) and European Truck Simulator 2 (ETS2). ATS and ETS2 have exactly the same telemetry outputs and share the same tuning. Captured Telemetry from both sims on multiple-trucks across multiple trips was utilized while testing various road surfaces, bumps, on-ramps, turns, and extreme conditions. NOTE ON YAW AND TRACTION LOSS: Yaw has been disabled as its likely positional/angular based, does not accurately reflect 360° motion, only appears to be a positive value up to 60, and will not work correctly on DOF or Prosimu platforms. In addition, there is no telemetry available for Traction Loss outputted by either ATS or ETS2. NOTE ON TRUCK NAMES: Sim Racing Studio supports individual truck tunings for both ATS and ETS2. However, the correct truck name will not be displayed. Truck names will appear as either random numbers or names (ex. 00, 9, rails, them, etc). This is not a bug in SRS. These sims do not export the correct truck name with the telemetry output.
SPECIAL NOTE FOR H6/P6 USERS: It is recommended to enable Enhanced G-Forces at the bottom of the Motion Tuning page for ATS and ETS2 since they have long periods of Sway and Surge. It will provide a sustained feeling for Surge or Sway by converting the Surge effect into Pitch and the Sway effect into Roll. If you turn Enhanced G-Forces OFF, you will feel the Sway and Surge effects available for those platforms; however, the effect only lasts during the range of motion since it's parallel to the ground. This option only appears for these 6-axis platforms.
To set a general tuning for either ATS or ETS2, launch SRS, select TUNING, and click on the magnifying glass icon in the Profile In Use section in the upper right. Select the game to tune, and adjust the sliders and max telemetry as needed. Click SAVE when finished. The tuning will now be the default for the game. (Note: In Sim Racing Studio, American Truck Simulator will appear as "ats" and European Truck Simulator 2 will appear as "ets"). When a truck is selected and loaded in game, you can set the tuning for the specific truck as it will be listed underneath the game title. American Truck Simulator and European Truck Simulator 2 General Tuning
Notes: Pitch and Roll has been increased by 10x in SRS to provide actual telemetry values when climbing hills or rolling. Sway telemetry has also been increased by 2x to provide lateral motion when swerving. Increased Reaction Speed in Platform to improve matched motion of trucks. Long G Surge Accel and Decel balanced for normal and extreme braking. Vert G Heave Max Telemetry is set lower to feel speed bumps (Increase Heave Max Telemetry to 7 or 8 if bumps are too extreme). Roll telemetry is reversed and should be entered as -10.
American Truck Simulator and European Truck Simulator 2 Shaker Tuning
Note: Balanced on a SRS Elite Shaker Kit with a Buttkicker 2. Tuning should be increased or lowered depending on power and transducer types utilized.
