IMPORTANT NOTE: This tuning has been updated on 9/23/2020. Below is the general tuning for DiRT Rally 2.0. This tuning was revised based on new telemetry processes and does not divide-by-3 which would result in low Max Telemetry values. Lower Max Telemetry values equate to hard/jarring motion as the motion platform will achieve maximum movement extremely quickly prior to the telemetry values sent by the game reaching actual maximum values.
The tuning is now based on a wider selection of vehicles (12 total vehicles) with captured telemetry in controlled track-like conditions in the Free Roam section of Dirt Fish. This allows collection of accurate data based on vehicle performance on not corrupted by road conditions and/or collisions or jumps. Tuning was then verified on multiple tracks and rally cross environments to allow for additional tuning of the Effects Sliders.
SPECIAL NOTE FOR H6/P6 USERS: It is recommended to enable Enhanced G-Forces at the bottom of the Motion Tuning page for DiRT Rally 2.0 since it has long periods of Sway and Surge. It will provide a sustained feeling for Surge or Sway by converting the Surge effect into Pitch and the Sway effect into Roll. If you turn Enhanced G-Forces OFF, you will feel the Sway and Surge effects available for those platforms; however, the effect only lasts during the range of motion as its parallel to the ground. This option only appears for these 6-axis platforms.
If there is specific vehicle in DiRT Rally 2.0 you are focused on, its recommended to adjust the tuning for that vehicle and track type. For example, if you want to feel more slamming when landing a large jump from a high HP vehicle, reduce the Max Telemetry by 1 or 2 in Pitch and Vert G Road Heave. If you want less feeling of acceleration due to a low HP vehicle, increase Max Telemetry for Long G Surge Accel (or lower Max Tel to increase the acceleration feeling). However, this general tuning was tested across multiple HP rated vehicles in multiple rally stages and rally cross races to provide a starting point. Note: To set a general tuning for a game, launch SRS, select TUNING, and click on the magnifying glass icon in the Profile In Use section in the upper right. Select the game to tune, and adjust the sliders and max telemetry as needed. Click SAVE when finished. The tuning will now be the default for the game. The previous tuning posted on August 6th, 2020 is available in the comments section below.
DiRT Rally 2.0 General Tuning
Notes: The new tuning has increased the Max Telemetry for all effects. Reaction Speed has been increased to 90 due to quick performance of vehicles in DiRT Rally 2.0. Boost has been slightly increased to 40 to provide more road detail in motion. Prioritized Lat G Sway and Vert G Road Heave along with Pitch and Roll to increase the feeling of dirt rally tracks. Long G Surge Accel/Decel normalized for a wide range of vehicles. Min Traction Loss Activation has been reduced to 0 in order to feel immediate traction loss. Gear Smoothing Factor set to 0 to allow for additional tuning by users. Enhanced G-Forces should remain on for H6/P6 users.
